Our History
Several years ago, we had the opportunity presented to us to venture into the auto salvage industry. With the support of a great father and mother, we pursued new careers. Our owner, Johnny, retired with a 35-year tenure at Ford Motor Company, and Flavia with a 30-year dental career. We took a leap of faith and started Young’s Auto Parts & Recycling. With very little knowledge of the industry and no inventory, we began our journey.
With the help of the computer, we began helping the locals locate automotive parts that were not nearby. This is how we came to be closed on Mondays because this was the day that we would head down into the Metro Detroit area and purchase parts for the locals. As we told our story to other salvage yard owners, we began making new friends who were willing to help us learn and grow.
This is where we established one of our mottos, “If you can’t find it, we can! We go the extra mile.” People were coming to us for help, and we were glad to do it. The reward was their loyalty and return business, many of whom we consider friends today.
As we continue to grow and learn, we want to thank everyone who has supported us with all the help they have given us – our daughters with their education and knowledge of business, our employees who continue to go above and beyond, our customers who believe in us and most of all, Flavia’s parents, Lee and Agatha.
A Heartfelt Note From Our Owner to Her Father
“Thank you for believing in us, dad. You made this possible and we wish you were here to see how far we’ve come.” – Eligio (Lee) Parascandalo, 1937-2018.
